Didactic and practical experience will include recognition of patients that may require IV administration, IV access techniques, drip rate calculation, fluid resuscitation, blood glucose testing and administration of
Dextrose and Narcan. **Students who have completed their EMT-Basic Course at TVEMS within the previous 12 months will not need to purchase the polo shirt, pants (assuming the student still possesses them) or complete a background check. - REQUIREMENTS: Please submit the following by 5:00 pm two weeks prior to the start of class to be considered for the course:
o Completed Course Application
o Background check as described above
o Current State of Colorado EMT- B Certification
o Current CPR Healthcare Provider certification
o Vaccination record to include MMR, TB, and Hepatitis B
o Students who completed their EMT training at TVEMS within the last 12
months should verify that this material is on file
